The unit construction 650 B range commenced after the annual summer break in August 1962. Pre-production machines DU101-108 were completed on 29 September 1962. Production for real commenced on 13 November 1962.
Although manufactured in 1962 the model year was 1963.
Somewhat a hybrid motorcycle due to the many parts used from the pre-unit models - forks, wheels, guards, petrol tank each modified to fit the new unit design. Road tested by Hot Rod Magazine in the USA June 1963 showing 115 MPH. We had to wait for the 1964 model to lose the pre-unit items.
