Trifest Ullapool a Success

Over 150 TOMCC Members descended on Ullapool in the North of Scotland for a long weekend of bikes, scenery, ride-outs, comedy, music, and great food. All agreed it was an excellent weekend and there has been a lot of interest in holding another next year.

The Trifest event started on the Friday (16th September) with everyone arriving and settling into their accommodation. In the evening most people gathered in the Seaforth Inn for some food, live music, excellent whisky, finding out what was happening for the rest of the weekend, and generally chatting to each other over a beer or three. There was also a comedy event up at the Ceilidh Place with Seann Walsh on the Ullapool date of his 'One for the Road' tour.

The Saturday was blessed by continuing great weather, sunny and mild. Most people opted to go exploring the area on their bikes in various groups - having sorted out last night who was going where. A favourite destination was Lochinver, but the road over to Applecross was also very popular. There are so many great roads to choose from, however the few arrogant Ferrari drivers who won't move over for oncoming bikes do tend to spoil things a little... but they don't seem to like having their mirror being taken off as a result so maybe they'll learn road manners, who knows.

The Saturday evening was passed in the Seaforth Inn again with a live Celtic music band, a disco (who played everything from AC/DC to ZZ Top), and an excellent buffet. The Yorvik crowd stayed right up until the close, as usual.

Sunday saw the concourse take place on the harbour (everyone managed not to fall in). There were over 100 Triumphs on show from a pre-war Model Z to a modern day Rocket III. Prizes were given out with a beautiful 1959 Speed Twin wining the Pre-1991 category, a stunning Rocket III with loads of tasteful extras winning the post-1991 category, and a beautiful Thruxton winning the best Triumph category.

The rest of the Sunday was taken up with more ride-outs and meeting up at the Seaforth in the evening.

It's not sure whether there will be another Trifest Ullapool next year at this stage, but keep an eye on social media and the Trifest News.
