Triumph are holding their first "Evening With" event of 2023 on the 11th November as they start their Winter programme of events. The theme of this event will be the Duplex Triumphs (1959 to 1962). It is being held at the Triumph Factory Visitor Experience in Hinckley and tickets cost £25.
The Duplex frame was brought in to replace the old 'Whip Iron' frame and had two down tubes to strengthen the engine support, but initially suffered its own problems. It was found that the headstock wasn't strong enough and ended up cracking. Triumph added an extra frame tube to solve the problem. When Triumph went to unit construction for the 650cc machines, the frame went back to a single down-tube.
