Raising the Roof Rally at the Woodford Halse Village Fete
This is a charitable event, with all proceeds going to the upkeep of the parish church, St. Mary the Virgin; our aim this coming year is to raise funds to replace the lead that has been stolen from the roof twice in the last 12 months. The fete is held in West Farndon, almost halfway between Banbury and Daventry, situated near the A361. It is a traditional village affair with live music, food, a licensed bar and a wide range of attractions for all ages. To widen the appeal of the show this coming year, which will be held on the 10th July 2010, it is planned that this will include our inaugural classic vehicle gathering, called the Raising the Roof Rally. The rally is to commence at 12.00 pm, with the fete opening it's gates at 3.00 pm and finishing at 8.00 pm. For a nominal entry fee of £3 for motorcycles or £5 for all other vehicles, all participants will receive free entry to the fete. All vehicles will be eligible for judging in the Woodford Halse Pride & Joy award, with the winner receiving a cup to commemorate the occasion. If you or your members are interested in joining us, for what we hope will be a fine day out, they should contact us at nevillegrunwald@tiscali.co.uk or on 01327 262909, and we will send an entry pack out to them by return.

East Lancashire Railway Vintage/Historic Transport Gathering
East Lancashire Railway Vintage/Historic Transport Gathering – 2010 The event is a static show based in Bury, 12 miles North of Manchester. Traditionally the event has been a vintage transport gathering but, in my first year of volunteering to organize the event I am trying to attract the owners of more modern 'classic or historic' vehicles so members of the public can enjoy viewing the vehicles that we all enjoy owning. In return exhibitors will receive free train passes for the 11 ½ miles of preserved railway the ELR runs (the number depends on the vehicle type). The event this year co-incides with a farmers market and the World Black Pudding Throwing Championship in Ramsbottom - if that isn't a draw to attend who knows what is! Any members interested should contact me (details below) by 1st June 2010 to reserve their places. John Lomas Vintage Transport Gathering Organiser Email: vintage@east-lancs-rly.co.uk Postal Address: Bolton Street Station, Bury, Lancs, BL9 0EY Tel: 07590 436 225 (after 7.00 pm)
