TOMCC Membership Card Competition

The TOMCC have decided to hold a competition for a design of a new membership card. The person submitting the winning entry will get a year's free membership of the Club for themselves and an Associate. Interested? Then read on to find out about what we're looking for and how to enter.

Believe it or not, the TOMCC Membership Cards have had the same design and images for just over 10 years, so they are certainly overdue for being updated. Now, the Club Committee could have just come up with a design but instead we thought that this would be a great opportunity for our members to take part and suggest their own designs.

Firstly, don't be put off by thinking that you have to do a full design of the front and back. You can just send in a photo to replace the current one on the Membership Card if you think the card design itself is ok. If you think the whole of the front of the card needs to be updated then you can send in a mock-up of your design (including the photos you used). If you also think the back of the card needs to be changed then send in designs for both the front and the back.

The main consideration is that there needs to be room to print the membership details on one side of the Membership Card (either the front or the back). Additionally, because printing colour is more pricey than black and white, only one side of the card should be in colour, the other side must be black and white (not grey scale). The Membership Card must be credit-card sized and any design needs to be visually appealing at this small size. The BMF Logo is optional and the wording on the back regarding BMF Affiliation is also optional, but the rest of the wording on the back needs to be there in some form or other. The Club logo can be downloaded from the 'About the Club' page on the TOMCC Website.

Please supply any photos and images in as high a resolution as you can (you should send the originals as well as cropped to fit the design).

We're giving you a reasonable amount of time to come up with a killer image or design as entries only need to be received before the 16th December 2018.

So, if you fancy yourself as a bit of a photographer, or artist, or graphic designer and you have a great idea for our membership cards then send in your entry and you could end up having your work distributed worldwide.

The Boring Rules

Entries will only be accepted by email, or by post. Images or other designs and submissions will only be accepted in digital form. Email entries should have the subject 'TOMCC Membership Card Competition', include any images or other designs and submissions as attachments, and be sent to memberships@tomcc.org. Postal entries must have either internet addresses (links) to the relevant images or other designs and submissions, or include a memory stick with them on, and be sent to:

TOMCC Membership Card Competition, 6 Bramley Walk, HORLEY, RH6 9GB, UK

Entries must include your full name, your full postal address, and your e-mail address (if applicable). You may also supply your telephone number, and your membership number if you are a member of the TOMCC. Any images must be of a resolution of 5 megapixels or greater. The closing date for entries is 12:00 GMT on the 16th December 2018.

Entries will be judged by the TOMCC Club Committee according to how well they represent the TOMCC, how appealing the image or design is, how easy it is to implement any design in practice, and how suitable any image or design is visually when printed on a membership card. The TOMCC reserves the right to use all or part of the winning design.

There will only be one prize which will be awarded to the submitter of the winning entry. The prize shall be a year's Full membership of the TOMCC for the submitter and an Associate membership for either their partner or any other one person who qualifies for Associate membership.

The result of the competition will be announced in Nacelle and on the TOMCC Website in January 2019. The winner will be notified before the end of December 2018 either by e-mail or by post (depending on how they submitted their entry). The prize will be awarded for a year starting on the 1st January 2019 or at the end of any current Membership (whichever is later). The prize will be received by the winner in January 2019.

The competition is open to anyone who owns a Triumph (and would thus qualify for membership), whether they are a member or not. There is no fee for entering the competition.

The copyright of all entries into the competition will remain with the original copyright owner. All images or designs submitted must be the copyright of the person submitting the images or designs. The copyright owner of the winning entry will grant to the TOMCC a royalty free unlimited time license to use the designs and images for all TOMCC Membership Cards and publicity (including publishing on the TOMCC website).

There is no cash alternative to the prize. If the submitter of the winning entry is not eligible to join the TOMCC then no prize shall be awarded. The TOMCC will not be responsible for any entries that are not received by the deadline for whatever reason. The TOMCC will not return any posted entries unless a stamped self-addressed envelope is included. The judgement of the TOMCC Committee in any matter relating to the competition is final. Anyone submitting an entry agrees to indemnify the TOMCC against any legal proceedings resulting from the entry. The competition will be run, and be subject to, the laws of the United Kingdom. All personal data associated with any entries will be handled according to the GDPR regulations and will be deleted when the winning entry is selected.
