John McGuinness reviews the Daytona Moto2 765 LE

Bennetts Bike Social have managed to get multiple TT Winner John McGuinness to ride a Triumph Daytona Moto2 765 Limited Edition machine for the first time. He has run it around Brands Hatch and now knows how Peter Hickman managed to win the Supersport TT on his Daytona 675R - watch the video.

Steve, the Bennetts Bike Social reporter, rode the machine to the circuit and makes the point that this is a true sports bike that is happiest on the track - but they you can still get a lot of enjoyment from it on the road. Steve comments that it is exactly what he would imagine a race bike would be like. The machine makes you work hard on the uneven roads to keep up your speed - as you would expect from a race-oriented machine. However it's a lot of fun.

John takes the machine around the track - and he would know a bit about riding fast on tracks. He liked the stability of the machine, especially when hitting the brakes giving a really stable and controlled feeling into the bends. John says "It would be a good TT bike", and who are we to disagree.

All the Daytona Moto2 765 Limited Edition machines have been sold, but you might be able to get one second hand. Here's hoping that Triumph will decide to release a lower spec Daytona 765.
