Regular readers of Nacelle will know that our Patron, Norman Hyde, has been diagnosed with dementia and in his own inimitable way, Norman’s response has been to ask past Chairman, Ken Talbot and myself, Steve Jackson, to join with him in raising much needed funds for the charity, Dementia UK, with the help of Triumph Owners’ Motor Cycle Club Members. To this end we hope to also include TOMCC branches, at shows, events and ride-outs individually or with other members.
Norman Hyde’s ‘Ride to Recall’ in aid of Dementia UK

Dementia UK is the only UK-wide charity dedicated to specialist dementia nursing. The charity is there for the whole family and their nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, provide free, life-changing support and advice to anyone affected by dementia.
Many of us I’m sure will already have been touched in some way by dementia, whether through a family member, a loved one or a friend. Today in the UK there are around 944,000 people living with dementia, (including 70,800 living with young onset dementia, where symptoms develop under the age of 65) and right now there are less than 500 Admiral Nurses to support them and their families.
‘Ride to Recall’ will run throughout 2026 so how can you get involved and help.
Take part in an 81-mile Ride to Recall (Norman is 81 years old this year)
Set off on an adventure on a Ride to Recall 81. No sat-nav, no map, just set off and 81 miles later stop, take a selfie of you and your bike, make a note of where you are and send it all in to (steve@tigercubandterrier.com) for the Ride to Recall pages of Nacelle. Then make a donation of whatever you can afford (perhaps asking family and friends to sponsor you) to Dementia UK on the JustGiving page below.
Please make your Donations at:
