Whilst the Motorcycle Run is returning, building on the history and success of previous events, this year will have a completely new route and a brand-new event location, making it a fresh experience for both returning riders and first-time participants.
For 2026, we’re bringing the Motorcycle Run and our new Whirlybirds Family Fun Day together into one brilliant day, for riders, families, supporters, and the local community to enjoy together, so we’re expecting a bumper crowd!
๐๏ธ About the Ride
This year’s motorcycle run will feature a 24-mile route, designed to make the event more accessible, enjoyable, and community-focused, while still bringing bikers together in support of Essex & Herts Air Ambulance. The shorter route allows us to continue operating this event and has plenty of opportunities for the wider community to get involved, cheer on the riders and support the event throughout the day. And of course, this is a ride, not a race, where the destination is just as important as the journey. It’s all about coming together, enjoying the experience, and showing support for our life-saving service. Every mile ridden helps to raise awareness and vital funds to keep our helicopters flying and our critical care teams responding, when every second counts.
๐ก What is the Whirlybirds Family Fun Day?
Whirlybirds Family Fun Day is a celebration of community, bringing together supporters, families, riders, and local businesses for a day packed with entertainment, activities, and fundraising in support of Essex & Herts Air Ambulance.
This year we’re thrilled to have:

๐ค A kids disco and magic shows with Skittleman
๐ธ Live music from Lord Toffingham and Quo Connection
๐ก Fairground rides, inflatables and games stalls
๐ช Plus even more entertainment and activities to be announced!
From food and stalls to children’s entertainment and live performances, there’ll be something for everyone to enjoy throughout the day – and applications for EXHIBITORS are now open! We’ looking to build a great mix of stands, and so we’re pleased to include the event info and booking form. If you have any questions, please do get in touch.
We’re particular interested in hearing from vintage and specialist motorcycle clubs who might want to show their bikes at the event.
