Iván Cervantes and Triumph Break World Record

World ambassador for Triumph Ivan Cervantes, multiple enduro world champion, has entered the Guinness Book of World Records. Riding a Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Explorer, he covered 2493.27 miles (4,012 km) in 24 hours, setting a new world-record for the distance covered on a motorcycle in that time.

With an average speed of more than 103 miles/h over 24 hours at the Nardò Technical Center in Italy, and a distance equivalent to a journey between London and the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, Ivan Torres and his mount broke the previous record of 2116.39 miles.

While the rider underwent intensive training for this demanding ride, the bike was randomly drawn from the production line at Triumph's factory in Hinckley, UK, and underwent no particular modifications. Only one tyre change was necessary in the 24 hours, carried out halfway through.
